Across the Globe, We Are United in Our Dedication to GIRLS’s Rights

OUR PROGRAMMES

SHE-EMPOWER / SHE-LEARNS

According to the UNESCO Institute for Statistics, millions of girls globally remain out of school, while many others face challenges completing their education due to early marriage, household responsibilities, poverty, and gender discrimination.

Girls of Purpose Ghana recognizes education as a powerful driver of transformation for girls, families, and communities. The She-Learns initiative was developed to support girls from underprivileged backgrounds by expanding access to quality education, mentorship, leadership development, and life skills.

The programme adopts a multi-faceted approach that includes capacity building, mentorship, sensitization sessions, and leadership development. It also raises awareness in JHS and SHS settings on the importance of girls’ leadership and its long-term benefits for families, local economies, and national development.

Aligned with SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 5 (Gender Equality), She-Learns aims to ensure that no girl is left behind and that girls are empowered to become educated, confident contributors to their communities.

SHE-NOVATE & CODE / STEM

Technology, innovation, and digital skills are shaping the future of work and leadership. She-Novate & Code encourages girls and young women to explore STEM, technology, innovation, and digital communication fields where female representation remains low.

Through sensitization programmes, skills training, mentorship, internships, and partnerships, the initiative supports girls to build confidence and competence in coding, digital tools, innovation, and problem-solving, positioning them to participate meaningfully in the digital economy.

SHE-SAFE ONLINE

As digital access expands, girls and young women face increasing online risks, including cyberbullying, online sexual exploitation, harassment, misinformation, and privacy violations. She-Safe Online is Girls of Purpose Ghana’s Child Online Protection initiative designed to promote safe, responsible, and informed digital participation.

The programme focuses on:

  • Digital literacy and responsible online behavior
  • Online safety, privacy, and data protection awareness
  • Prevention of cyberbullying and online abuse
  • Safe use of social media and digital platforms
  • Reporting mechanisms and access to support services

She-Safe Online works with schools, parents, community leaders, and technology partners to create safer digital environments for girls. The programme aligns with child protection principles, digital rights frameworks, and SDG 16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions), ensuring that girls are protected, informed, and empowered in both offline and online spaces.

SHE-NETWORKS

Collaboration and connection are essential to growth. She-Networks creates safe and inclusive spaces for girls and young women to connect, learn, share experiences, and build lasting relationships.

Through networking sessions, workshops, forums, and summits, members drawn from different schools, communities, and regions are brought together to exchange ideas, build peer support systems, and develop social and professional networks. These engagements also promote confidence, teamwork, and a strong sense of belonging.

SHE-ADVOCATES

Advocacy is central to sustainable empowerment. She-Advocates places girls and young women at the forefront of advocacy efforts, enabling them to articulate their needs and demand change through appropriate and constructive channels.

The initiative supports school-based campaigns, community dialogues, and engagement with policymakers at district and national levels. Girls are trained in leadership, civic participation, and policy awareness, nurturing future leaders in politics, governance, and other sectors.

By amplifying girls’ voices, She-Advocates strengthens agency and builds a culture of active citizenship from a young age.

SHE-HEALTH & WELL-BEING

Girls and young women in Ghana, particularly in low-resource settings, face significant health and well-being challenges. These include limited access to healthcare, inadequate information on sexual and reproductive health, stigma around menstruation, mental health pressures, and the growing influence of social media on self-esteem.

She-Health & Well-Being is designed to promote self-awareness, self-acceptance, and holistic health. The programme provides education, resources, and support on:

  • Menstrual hygiene management
  • Mental health and psychosocial well-being
  • Nutrition and healthy lifestyles
  • Sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR)

Aligned with SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-Being) and SDG 5 (Gender Equality), the initiative empowers girls to make informed decisions about their health and build resilience to thrive academically, socially, and personally.
