We Support Children and Youth to Reach Their Full Potential

ABOUT US

Girls of Purpose Ghana (GoPG) is a dynamic, inclusive youth-led foundation dedicated to empowering girls and young women with the tools, knowledge, and support they need to realize their full potential. The Foundation focuses on girls and at-risk young women aged 12–25 years, with a national footprint that prioritizes inclusion across diverse backgrounds, cultures, and socioeconomic contexts.

It  is driven by a commitment to advancing gender equality and girls’ empowerment, particularly in the context of Ghana’s Affirmative Action Act (2024) and global frameworks such as the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). While strong policies exist, gaps remain between policy and practice, often compounded by limited parental engagement and systemic social barriers. The Foundation responds to these gaps by combining education, mentorship, advocacy, and community-building to support girls in navigating social, cultural, and institutional challenges.

Uniquely, Girls of Purpose Ghana is led by a teenage girl who has been empowered through engagement with several women’s rights and youth development organizations. Her leadership places lived experience at the center of the Foundation’s work. She understands firsthand the challenges faced by girls and young women today, ensuring that programmes remain relevant, practical, and responsive to real needs. This youth-led approach reinforces the belief that girls are not just beneficiaries of change but active drivers of it.
